Bagua Artist Association is dedicated to experimenting and re-examining variations of Chinese traditional culture, philosophies, mythologies, traditions, customs, and their manifestation in contemporary context through the quotidian and everydayness. Social engagement art, participatory and interactive performances are focuses in Bagua Artist Association’s practice. Past projects and events include Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea (2019) commissioned by the City of Vancouver, Alchemist’s Elixir (2019) exhibited at Digital Carnival, Hot & Noisy Bagua Chinatown Mahjong Art Social (2019), in collaboration with Youth Collaborative for Chinatown, in Sun Wah Centre, Calligraphy Workshop for Chinatown Locals and Seniors (2018).
